Descriptions of Courses and Seminars

I. THE BASICS

Church Teachings

Catechism of the Catholic Church
Most Catholics have a sketchy understanding of the Catholic, Christian faith. When we understand our faith as a whole, we can understand the parts. This course is essential for building a strong, Christian life.

The Bible

Principles of Bible Interpretation
To rightly understand the Bible, we must know basic principles of Bible interpretation and how to apply them.

Books of the Bible
Classes covering about one-fourth of the Bible will be offered in each school year. In addition to these classes, all the books of the Bible can be learned through home-study. We have available audio tape teachings on every book and chapter of the Bible. We also offer video tape introductions to each book of the Bible.

The Church

The Church in God's Plan
Jesus gave the Church and its head the keys of God's kingdom (Mt 16:18-20). This course encourages us to love the Church as Jesus does (Eph 5:25).

The Fathers of the Church
Divine revelation has come to us through the Church of the New Testament. A study of the Church Fathers opens our eyes to New Testament revelation.

An Overview of Church History
We must have a true understanding of the history of Christ's body, the Church, or we will be easily confused and deceived.

Mary in God's Plan
Mary is the mother of God and the mother of the Church. To know her part in God's plan is critical.

The Doctors of the Church
The Doctors of the Church have been recognized by the Church for their teachings and holy lives. We can gain new insight into our faith by studying them.

First Things First

Renewing Your Baptism
The day of your Baptism was the greatest day of your life. Find out why and live accordingly.

Life in the Spirit
This course follows the structure of the Life in the Spirit Seminars. These seminars have been used by the Lord to renew the Baptisms and Confirmations of millions of people world-wide. Seven video teachings can be used as part of this course.

Living in Reality
By facing reality in its fullness, we can build a new life in the Spirit.

Seek First God's Kingdom
Jesus taught us to pray and live for His kingdom to come (Mt 6:10). Seek first His kingdom (Mt 6:33).

Life-Style in the Spirit
The Lord has given us the Spirit to make us holy in every aspect of our conduct (1 Pt 1:15).

Vocations

Who Am I In Christ?
We must know who we are if we are to live holy lives.

The Vocation of the Laity in the Secular World
In this course, the lay vocation is revealed through a study of the Pope John Paul II's apostolic exhortation, The Lay Members of Christ's Faithful People.

Christian Marriage
Base your marriage on the rock of hearing and obeying God's word (Mt 7:24).

Single for the Lord
This is the preferred vocation (1 Cor 7:1). Find out why.

Women In Christ
This course proclaims the Biblical revelation about the roles of women in God's plan. It especially focuses on Pope John Paul's apostolic letter, The Dignity and Vocation of Women.

Men in Christ
This seminar has raised up men for combat and service in God's work.

Christian Parenting
This is one of the most important ministries the Lord has ever given a human being. From God's Church and His word, learn how to accept God's grace in order to do the best job possible.

Discipling Children through Home-Schooling
All children are home-schooled, whether or not their parents are conscious of it. Many parents are called to continue home-schooling without the supplement of class-room education. Learn what the Lord wants for you and your children.

Liturgy

Worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth (Jn 4:23)
We were created to worship the Lord forever.

The Sacraments
The course teaches that the sacraments are the key to a deep, total, personal relationship with the Lord.

Brotherhood and Sisterhood in Christ
What does it mean to be a brother or sister in Christ?

Fighting for Life
In our "culture of death," all who are doers of God's word (Jas 1:22) must be laying down their lives to protect life. This seminar will apply God's word to bringing down the devil's stronghold (2 Cor 10:4).

Fighting for Justice and Freedom
The Church's social teachings are a constitutive element of the faith.

III. SPECIAL MINISTRIES
